Written by a former monastic of the Buddhist forest tradition of Sri Lanka (now an academic in Buddhist Studies and—more importantly—father to a little girl), this beautifully illustrated story introduces children to the forest-dwelling renunciate.

Like the monastics who lived twenty-five centuries ago in the time of the Buddha, these modern practitioners live quiet lives in solitude in remote forests, engaged in meditation, in harmony with nature. Through this book, children will get a glimpse into this fascinating way of life that is becoming increasingly rare in the world yet has lost none of its capacity to inspire.
